On Dec. 10, the Denver Art Museum hosted its 35th annual Collectors’ Choice elegant black-tie fundraising gala. This year, the event honored Jan Mayer’s more than four decade vocation as a steadfast friend and patron of the museum. The incomparable gifts of Spanish Colonial art by Jan and her late husband Frederick elevated the DAM’s collection to the best in the United States and one of the best in the world. We are delighted that the significant funds raised through the gala will be dedicated to the galleries of the New World Department, in recognition of the Mayers.
Pepe Romero, world-renowned classical and flamenco guitarist
The evening included cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Frederic C. Hamilton Building, a seated dinner in the North Building, as well as surprise performances by Central City Opera and Pepe Romero, world-renowned classical and flamenco guitarist. Design Works created the stunning décor that was well-received by all the guests.
