Opera Colorado announced today that it welcomes four new members to its growing staff as the 2016-2017 Season begins, including Director of Development Erin Wenzel, Executive Assistant to the General Director Ben Newman, Digital Marketing Assistant Manager Michael Hayes and part-time Education and Community Engagement Assistant Parisa Zaeri.
As a part of Opera Colorado’s five-year strategic plan, the 2016-2017 fiscal year brings about new growth, and filling positions that were eliminated from the company during the 2013 economic restructuring. A returning position, the director of development and a new full-time, executive assistant to the general director have been added. A previous part-time marketing position changed to full time in the 2015 fiscal year, and developed into the digital marketing assistant manager position, which Michael Hayes recently took over. The part-time education & community engagement position came into existence in the 2016 fiscal year, and has recently been filled by Parisa Zaeri.
“With four fiscal years of financial stability and a new artistic vision in place, Opera Colorado is now positioned to regain some of the positions that were eliminated during our 2013 financial restructuring, and add some much needed positions that will support the goals and objectives of our five-year strategic plan,” stated General Director Greg Carpenter. “I am thrilled that we have been able to fill these new positions with extremely creative individuals through highly competitive searches. I know their individual and collective talents will strengthen Opera Colorado artistically as well as financially – helping us meet and exceed our goals for the future.”
