The leader of a local sex-trafficking ring was found guilty by an Arapahoe County jury last week.
Brock Franklin, 31, was convicted of more than 30 counts in a human-trafficking case that was brought under Colorado’s Organized Crime Control Act. The sex trafficking involved children and adults.
In 2015, a statewide grand jury returned an indictment against Franklin and six other people. The indictment included nearly 60 counts, including trafficking a minor for sex. Additional charges included assault, distribution of controlled substances to a minor, sex assault and kidnapping.
Three girls and five women who were victimized by the ring cooperated with the prosecution. Investigators believe there were additional victims.
Franklin’s sentence will depend on the outcome of habitual-criminal proceedings, which scheduled to get underway in June.
