Greenwood Village City Manager Jim Sanderson will retire after 45 years of serving local governments, he announced ta the Aug. 7 City Council meeting. Sanderson has been the city manager for 12 years. He previously served as public works director and police chief, for a total of 21 years with Greenwood Village.
“I will be forever grateful for the opportunity given to me to serve the citizens of the Greenwood Village,” his letter to the council said. “I leave the behind the greatest staff that I’ve ever worked with and I know their continued success will serve the Village in an outstanding manner.”
Sanderson and his wife, Theresa, recently celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary. They have purchased a vacation home on wheels and plan to travel and explore the national park system now that the kids are grown.
His retirement is effective Oct. 28.
