Accused predator arrested for luring child on internet
By Peter Jones
After nearly four weeks of undercover investigation, a man was arrested in Centennial after Arapahoe County deputies found him on the Internet trying to lure a teenage girl into sex.
On Feb. 20, the Sheriff’s Office reported that Aaron Richman, 39, had been taken into custody on Valentine’s Day after making arrangements to meet a 13-year-old girl, who turned out to be an undercover investigator.
The sheriff’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit began its investigation of Richman in mid-January. During the course of several weeks, investigators had numerous communications with him.
Eventually, Richman allegedly made arrangements to pick up a juvenile on Feb. 14 in the 7300 block of East Arapahoe Road. After watching him enter the area and approach the undercover investigator, the suspect was arrested without incident and charged with two felonies for luring and sexually exploiting a child.
Richman was released pending a future court date after posting a $50,000 bond.
Anyone with information about other crimes potentially committed by Richman is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 303-795-4711.
