Centennial celebrates under the stars… and sun

Despite a passing rain shower that briefly sent picnickers running for their vehicles, Celebrate Centennial Under the Stars on Aug. 11 was a widely successful kickoff for the new state-of-the-art Centennial Center Park.

Notwithstanding its title, the majority of the all-day event saw children fending off the hot afternoon temperatures in the park’s water-play amenities as their parents rested in the sun or enjoyed an afternoon of live music in the amphitheater.
