Cherry Hills elects new mayor: 3 council members reelected, ballot issues passed

Doug Tisdale was elected mayor in Cherry Hills Village by 47 percent of those voting. Tisdale received 540 votes to handily beat out Russell Stewart, who received 437 votes and Joe Poché, who received 161 votes April 3.
Tisdale served as District 1 council member from 2000-2008 and as mayor pro tem from 2006-2008. He succeeds Mike Wozniak, who served as mayor for six years and was term limited for the April 3 election.
Shortly after receiving word of his victory, Tisdale released a statement.
“I am honored and delighted that the voters of Cherry Hills have elected me as their mayor,” Tisdale said. “I am humbled by the overwhelming support expressed for me throughout the campaign
