Act would increase state control of forest management

In the wake of Colorado’s recent wildfires, U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman, R-Aurora, joined other Republican members of the state’s congressional delegation last week to introduce legislation that would increase local control of forest management and wildfire prevention.
“This summer has been a wakeup call for members of Congress, as it has become beyond clear that Western communities need as many forest-management tools as we can give in order to mitigate the risk of out-of-control wildfires,” Coffman said in a statement.
