Brauchler and Feldman vying to replace Chambers

The two candidates competing to be the next district attorney in the 18th Judicial District disagreed on little of substance when each made their arguments on Sept. 5 during a debate at the Highlands Ranch Public Library.

Although they differed on the role of partisanship and what constitutes the best resume for an aspiring district attorney, the contenders largely agreed on such substantive issues as the death penalty, gun

The choice is very clear. Although I am a Republican, I am voting for Judge Feldman. This is NOT a political office! I encourage the citizens of this district from all political parties to take a close look at the both candidates. I have no doubt that you will come to the same conclusion that I have. It’s quite obvious that Feldman is the best choice.

I am voting for Ethan Feldman. Ethan has the qualifications and experience to head up the district attorney’s office. He has been endorsed by Republicans and Democrats alike, which says a lot about his character and his ability to lead. I encourage all voters to do their research for this election!

As District Attorney, I’m not sure how George Brauchler thinks he or anyone else in that position could “get into your house more often.” DA’s don’t make laws, they prosecute people who break the laws. To be effective, DA’s must necessarily be non-partisan. Perpetrators and victims represent all walks of American society and come from all political parties. A partisan political approach to prosecution does not work. For this reason, and many others, I strongly support Ethan Feldman who “oozes integrity and ethics” and obviously understands this basic principle of being an effective District Attorney.

Ethan Feldman is the best candidate because he has extensive experience in the criminal justice system of the 18th Judicial District as prosecutor in Arapahoe county, defense attorney, and an additional 20 years as a judge in Arapahoe County. He demonstrates a very broad knowledge of the law and the courtroom from all these perspectives. His opponent describes Ethan as a good man who oozes integrity and ethics and he is! Ethan has been described as a model judge in the Colorado blue book for voters. Ethan is deeply committed to serving as district attorney and I urge to to vote for him. Thank you.

Ethan Feldman was the last candidate to enter the DA’s race. There were 5 candidates in January. Now there are two. The momentum Ethan Feldman brings to this race is contagious. I am a registered Republican, and I too will cross party lines to vote for Ethan Feldman. In following this very important local race, I have been impressed with the honor and integrity Ethan Feldman has demonstrated during the course of this campaign. I know of several fellow Republicans who share my opinion. Good Luck, Mr. Feldman, and on to a win in November!

In this article, which I have read more than once, I am perplexed that Brauchler actually stated, “Understand, as your district attorney I’m not looking at ways to get into your house more often.” This comment should be concerning to anyone considering voting for Brauchler. There are elements of Big Brother thinking in this statement. Brauchler also approached the police unions and accepted campaign contributions. Unbelieveable.

I know George Brauchler as an attorney who represented me. He accepted the case pro bono because of his conviction that an egregious injustice was taking place. His integrity is impeccable. He contacted the district attorney and was able to bring our case to a quick conclusion. He did this on his own time while waiting for redeployment back to Iraq.
George has my vote and I hope you will join me.
