The 135th Annual Colorado Press Convention was held at the downtown Westin Hotel this past weekend with about 400 Colorado newspaper folks enjoying seminars, speakers and award ceremonies.

For sure the newspaper world is alive and well and coming back with a vengeance. Newspapers still have the best platform for strong news reporting and coverage of Colorado communities.

Print is still the leader and newspapers are adding digital features, Web pages, and online delivery to entice readers to keep reading local newspapers. Revenue from Web papers is growing, but somewhere around 4 percent of readership compared to print products. The Internet does take down the walls and city limits of publications and readers
