Politics – Coffman beating Miklosi 2-to-1 in fundraising

Colorado’s 6th Congressional District may be among the most competitive voting districts on the state’s recently redrawn political map, but not so when it comes to campaign fundraising.
Despite a virtually three-way split among Republicans, Democrats and unaffiliated voters within the district’s new boundaries, the Republican incumbent is beating his Democratic challenger in fundraising by a greater than 2-to-1 margin.
Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman raised more than $532,000 during the first quarter of 2012 and reported having $1.37 million in cash on hand.
In comparison, Democrat Joe Miklosi, a lesser-known state representative, took in only $235,000 and reported $340,000 in the bank.
