Centennial veteran reflects on historic nuclear attack

W.L. Browning is a plainspoken 93-year-old man with a wealth of stories – some tragic, some funny and some just plain unusual.
“When I was born in Texas, it was common to give a boy a name with initials. That’s the name on my birth certificate,” he said. “All the kids I was playing with when I grew up wouldn’t say W.L. They would just say Dub, so that became my name.”
